10/18/12 - Requiem for Auschwitz goes Europe! After the impressive performances of Requiem for Auschwitz on May 3 in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam and on May 4 in the Concert Hall in Tilburg, the requiem will now, as planned, tour Europe. The international partners of organizer Alfa Foundation will produce and present the concert in their own country, in which each time a different choir and different soloists will participate.
Performances are booked for:
Prague, Rudolfinum, November 4
Budapest, Mupa Palace of the Arts, November 6
Frankfurt am Main, Der Alte Oper, November 28
Krakow and Berlin will follow early next year. We are still negotiating with Bucharest.
In Prague sings the Kühn Choir and soloists: Pavlína Matiová (soprano), Jana Wallingerová (alto), Martin rejma (tenor) and Martin Bárta (baritone). Jan Raas plays the organ.
In Budapest sings the Saint Ephraim Male Choir and soloists: Valeria Polyak (soprano), Judit Rajk (contralto), Zoltán Megyesi (tenor) and István Rácz (bass). Again Jan Raas plays the organ.
In Frankfurt sings the Kühn Choir from Prague and the soloists: Irina Baiant (soprano), Emanuela Pascu (mezzo-soprano), Florian Costea (tenor) and David Bubani (baritone). Ieronim Buga plays the organ.
Before the start of the program, Rodin Moldovan (violoncello) will perform "Ihr Habt nun Traurigkeit" from "Ein Deutsches Requiem" on. 45 by Johannes Brahms and "Kol Nidrei" for violoncello and orchestra by Max Bruch.
