| Amsterdam Student Choir
The Amsterdam Student Choir is an enthusiastic and ambitious choir. It performs classical choral works several times a year, often with a professional orchestra and well-known soloists.
Line-up
Currently the choir has approximately eighty experienced male and female singers. Most singers are students or doctoral students at the University of Amsterdam or former students who have completed their studies (for some time now). The choir also includes students and doctoral students from other universities or colleges.
History
The Amsterdam Student Choir was founded in 1987 by Pierre Schuitemaker under the name ‘CREA Oratorium Choir’. It was his goal to get young people enthusiastic about singing classic choral works. This initiative became very successful.
