|Choir of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic
The choir was created in 1945. In 1950 it received the status of the professional band. Its repertoire consists of oratorical pieces as well as a'capella ones dated from the 17th century to the present day. It is constituted by 85 musicians. It takes part in various festivals, interalia, Wratislavia Cantas, Warszawska Jesień, Festival Inter- natzionale di Roma, and Festival d’art Sacre de Paris. It accompanied many orchestras and performed all over Europe as well as in Iran, Canada, the USA, Turkey and Russia.
As the first Polish choir, it performed together with Krzysztof Penderecki in La Scala in Milan. The performance of “Lauds” is the showcase of the band. The album with the songs by Wojciech Kolar was nominated for the Polish Music Award “Fryderyk.”
