The Souvenir Opera Choir originates from a male-voice choir which formed the basis for the Royal Song Table “Souvenir des Montagnards”, founded in 1845. It makes this opera choir the oldest section of the “Souvenir des Montagnards” choir.
This mixed opera choir presents a scenic opera production in cooperation with an orchestra and renowned soloists twice or three times a year. These opera productions are performed at the Theaters Tilburg theatre.
If necessary and possible, the choir also performs at the theatre productions of the other two choir sections. In addition, the choir regularly organizes special concerts for supporters and contributors. The choir also aspires to participate in musical projects. In 2004 it attended the “Bel Canto” festival in Dordrecht, where they won first prize.
