And, finally, as a conductor, he led the Artistic Ensemble of the Army until it was dissolved in 2003. With this male choir he had an extensive concert activity, touring all over the country and making various recordings. He also conducted the Cappella Getica Choir, which performed in many concert halls including the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, with important orchestras and conductors such as the “George Enescu” Philharmonic Orchestra under Cristian Mandeal’s baton. Some of these concerts were broadcast on Radio and TV channels.
Having been raised within the environment of Byzantine music, Ieronim Buga strives to promote the rich legacy of the Greek and Russian traditions of the Orthodox music lore, discovering gems of this repertoire with his own choral formation.
